Heating

Reptiles and amphibians are ectotherms, or cold-blooded. A proper heating system is thus a very important factor of the natural terrarium set-up. Reptiles are able to regulate their body temperature partly through radiant heat from the sun, provided by the lighting system or the Ceramic Heater in terrarium conditions. In their natural biotope, reptiles also often use surfaces heated by the sun, like branches, rocks or the forest floor as a heat-conductor.

Radiant Heaters

The Exo Terra Radiant Heaters are radiant heat sources which create a natural sunlike heat with a uniform pattern. The long wave infrared heat produced by these emitters will warm reptiles very efficiently. They also increase the ambient airtemperature in the terrarium.

Heating

Substrate Heaters

Reptiles and amphibians are cold-blooded and in their natural habitat they often use surfaces heated by the sun to warm up. The Exo Terra Substrate Heaters simulate these surfaces heated by the sun.

Heating

In-Tank Heaters

The Exo Terra In-Tank Heaters help  maintain an ideal water temperature for aquatic turtles and most other aquatic reptiles and amphibians. The high-impact plastic casing and the stainless steel power cord protector keeps aquatic reptiles and amphibians safe.

Heating

Thermostats

Providing an appropriate, species related, temperature gradient in the terrarium is an important factor in successful reptile keeping. With the Exo Terra Thermostats you can create a well-controlled heating system that allows you to maintain the required temperature conditions similar to those found in a desert or tropical environment.
