Winner Nactus Award 2012

Category 5: Reptiles in their environment
Clare Greenwood, Falmouth, UK
Chelonia mydas

We are extremely pleased to announce the winner of the 2012 Nactus Award! This year's winner of our prestigious herpetological photography award is Ms. Clare Greenwood, from Falmouth, UK. Our online voters have selected her photograph as the most striking of all of the competition’s entries.

As the winner, Ms. Greenwood will receive a brand new Nikon D800 SLR Digital Camera. This prize of 3,000.00 USD value cannot be transferred, exchanged and can under no circumstances be converted into cash.

At this time, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the contestants. Our panel of judges found it quite challenging to select the 6 finalists for each category from amongst the hundreds of exceptional reptile and amphibian photographic entries that were received.

Of course, we owe a big "thank-you" to all of our on-line voters. The 2012 Nactus Award would not have been the huge success it was, if it were not for the thousands of people who took the time to visit the Exo Terra web site to view and vote for their favourite nominee.
